The Heartland Women's Leadership Council hosted its signature event, “Martinis, Women and Shoes,” at The Gallery Event Space located above Bristol in the Power & Light District on Aug. 30.

My reaction might have been heard miles away when I read this email today: "Shop the limited edition Banana Republic Trina Turk Collection" at Gilt.

I love J.Crew... so clean, so classic, so inspiring and colorful. So, needless to say I'm a mess over the opening of J.Crew's new sister store, Madewell, previously an online store. The brick-and-morter version opened last week at Town Center Plaza in Leawood, Kan. It's like J.Crew's cooler, hipper, younger sister. Definitely worth checking out.

Who doesn't love jewelry that sparkles but doesn't break the bank? I sure do! I have enough fabulous costume pieces to open my own small jewelry store, however I just couldn't resist this eye-catching, very affordable bracelet from Forever 21.

This announcement today almost made me jump out of my chair: The area’s first White House | Black Market Outlet boutique will open at Legends Outlets Kansas City in May 2012.

I am loving the polka dot trend for this spring and especially love the nautical take on the cute dots with this peacoat-style cotton jacket from Merona at Target. Perfect for the chilly spring morning air!
