It's A Date: Ideas for outings that you'll both enjoy
Whether you are a new couple, or a married pair trying to maintain the romance, date nights are an important part of any relationship. Check out these ideas for an outing that matches your style.
Most Kansas Citians know that KC has a happening art scene, but you don’t have to be an artist to enjoy a “hipsterific” art-filled date.
Start the date with a wine-and-cheese picnic on the lawn of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Next, take a stroll through the museum’s sculpture garden. These outdoor pieces are one of the city’s gems, and this art lends itself for a romantic evening stroll.
Walk a few blocks west for dinner on the Country Club Plaza at Eden Alley Vegetarian Cafe. This restaurant offers an array of creative vegetarian and gluten-free options. And the dishes are tasty and filling enough to satisfy even the most devout carnivore.
Finish the night with a film at the Tivoli in Westport. The Tivoli features independent and foreign films. After the film you will have plenty to talk about and an abundance of bars within walking distance, such as McCoy's Public House, The Foundry or Harry’s Bar & Tables.

A Chiefs game and tailgating make a perfect date for any football fan.
For this date, there a few pre-date activities you should do to ensure you make the most of your game day. First, stop by Kansas Sampler to get some cute Chiefs apparel. Who says sports fans can’t be stylish?
Second, you will want to pick up some tailgating supplies. Gates Bar-B-Q seasoning goes well with anything you put on the grill. Or if you and your special someone aren’t handy on the grill, just pick up some Gates barbecue to take with you to the game.
Finally, when game day arrives, get to the stadium in plenty of time to tailgate and make sure you bring plenty of beer.

If you or your significant other enjoys the experience of fine dining as much as the taste, make plans to check out Bo Lings Dim Sum for a weekend brunch.
The restaurant offers Dim Sum, i.e. small bite sized portions of various dishes, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at their River Market, Plaza and Overland Park locations. Waiters push carts full of items from table to table and you grab the dishes you want to try. Imagine a fancy buffet that comes directly to your table.
Other date locations that foodies should check out include Bluestem, Extra Virgin and The Drop (you absolutely have to try their edible shots).

If you start a date at the French bistro Le Fou Frog, romance will certainly follow.
After dinner check out a show at the beautiful new Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. The fall lineup includes a number of ballet and symphony shows, as well as an evening with David Sedaris (for those who find comedic satire romantic).
Finish the night with drinks at Manifesto, a low-key, speakeasy-style bar.
